Course Overview
The Legacy by Arthur Hills is a uniquely challenging daily fee-course spread across 200 rolling acres, dotted with five lakes, including an island green. We maintain 18 championship holes including a driving range and short game practice facility. The Equipment Manger is responsible for maintaining a fleet of Toro equipment, 90 Club Car Tempo gas player carts, 2 beverage carts, range picker, tractors, and other equipment. This position is ideal for someone committed to improving operational effectiveness and raising the baseline level of performance.

Key responsibilities, skills, aptitude, and knowledge:
- Inspects, diagnoses and repairs mechanical defects/failures in various golf course maintenance equipment, including: diesel-, electric- and gasoline-powered equipment, trenchers, rollers, mowers, and other mechanical equipment used in utility work
- Instructs and/or trains golf course maintenance workers regarding preventive maintenance, and the proper cleaning of and safe operation of equipment
- Maintains a preventive maintenance program within budget on all equipment, and purchases repair parts and replacement supplies
- Keeps a complete set of records for equipment and parts inventory purchases, equipment conditions, costs of repairs and preventive maintenance for all equipment
- Able to operate a computer to organize record-keeping and find parts/vendors/etc
- Spot checks equipment for performance on the course, makes emergency repairs to equipment on the course, and services or supervises servicing of equipment prior to use
- Oversees the shop area maintenance
- Regulates employees' use of equipment in absence of superintendent and assistant superintendent, if needed, and performs other duties as directed by the superintendent
- Recommends equipment purchases and leases
- Evaluates and modernizes the existing preventive maintenance program
- Assess the shop infrastructure and collaborate on long-term upgrade plans
- Weekends and Holidays may be required based on golf course schedule, equipment issues, superintendent’s discretion
Education and Experiences
- High school diploma preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- Golf course equipment experience preferred. Candidates without it will be considered if they have strong small engine repair skills, mechanical ability, and a willingness to learn.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing and walking
- Able to bend, crouch, stretch, push, pull and move as needed
- Must be able to visually inspect machinery, materials, and course quality
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions while repairing equipment
