Fremont Country Club Golf Course Superintendent

About Us: Fremont Country Club is a premier private golf facility known for its championship 18-hole course. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Golf Course Superintendent to maintain and enhance the quality of our course, ensuring an exceptional experience for our members and guests.
Job Summary: The Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all aspects of golf course maintenance, including turf management, landscaping, irrigation systems, and staff supervision. This role requires a passion for golf course excellence, strong leadership skills, and expertise in agronomy to ensure the course remains in pristine condition year-round.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement, and oversee all turf maintenance programs, including mowing, fertilization, pest control, and irrigation management.
- Manage and maintain golf course facilities, including greens, fairways, tees, bunkers, and landscaping features.
- Supervise, train, and schedule a team of groundskeeping staff to ensure efficient operations.
- Develop and manage the annual maintenance budget, including equipment purchases and labor costs.
- Monitor and maintain irrigation systems to optimize water usage and turf health.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with golf course management to align maintenance schedules with tournaments, events, and member play.
- Stay updated on the latest agronomic practices, equipment, and technologies to enhance course conditions.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, chemical applications, and equipment usage.
Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in turf management, agronomy, horticulture, or a related field (preferred).
- 2-5 years of experience is preferred as a Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
- Strong knowledge of turfgrass management, irrigation systems, and pest control methods.
- Valid pesticide applicator’s license or ability to obtain one within 1 year.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational, budgeting, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with golf course maintenance equipment and technology.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Passion for golf and commitment to delivering a high-quality playing experience.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with regional climate challenges.
- Familiarity with Toro and John Deere equipment.
- Certification from the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) is a plus.
